Celebrate the season with the DHC/STC Green Team while learning how to make a meaningful environmental impact. Leslie Caplin, Pinellas County’s recycling outreach expert, will share valuable insights into responsible recycling, covering:

  • The journey of garbage and recycling in Pinellas County.
  • How to use the Pinellas County Recycle Guide (guides provided) to recycle correctly.
  • Identifying your home and work garbage/recycling provider—and why it’s important.
  • Common "wish cycling" mistakes and how to avoid recycling contamination.
  • How recycling extends the life of the landfill.

Whether you’re an experienced recycler or just getting started, this engaging session will leave you informed and inspired to go green!

About Leslie Caplin

Leslie Caplin is an Environmental Outreach Assistant with Pinellas County Solid Waste. Passionate about sustainability, Leslie is dedicated to community engagement and educating residents on eco-friendly practices that help preserve the life of Pinellas County’s one and only landfill. Before joining Pinellas County Solid Waste, Leslie worked for the environmental non-profit Keep Pinellas Beautiful and has a degree in Sustainability Management from St. Petersburg College.

Who is the Green Team? 

The Green Team welcomes anyone in our DHC/STC community (staff, clients, friends, and family) interested in promoting environmental consciousness and efficiency in both the workplace and at home. Your level of involvement is entirely up to you, whether you prefer to attend office luncheons with guest speakers or get your hands dirty by joining a beach clean-up.
